Williton Memorial Ground and Pavilion

Welcome to Williton Memorial Ground and Pavilion Website.

The land was purchased by the Williton Public War Memorial Committee consisting of 12 parishioners on 14th September 1920.  The Williton Public War Memorial Committee handed the ownership of the ground over to Williton Parish Council on 1st June 1945, with a covenant that it be used for recreational purposes of the parishioners.

It used to be several meadows lying in the middle of the village, and is bounded by houses on Long Street, Robert Street and the Doctors Surgery.

The Pavilion was opened in November 2018, after many years of fund raising events held by local residents and the considerable funding given from The Big Lottery, EDF and CIM Funding.   The official opening was held on Saturday 14th September 2019, please click on the link below for the opening speech given by Mrs Elizabeth Peeks:

Williton Parish Council is Trustee of the Memorial Ground, which is legally established as a charity. This means that we spend a considerable sum each year on its’ upkeep, and have to pay for ground staff, the upkeep of the buildings on the Memorial Ground, and the children’s play area.

Williton Pavilion is available for hire.  If you would like to discuss hiring the venue, or would like to arrange a visit, then please contact Nadine, Michelle or Charlotte on Tel 01984 633979 who will be happy to discuss your requirements or email:  office@willitonpc.org.uk
